Air Zoom Hyperslide

Nike and Hyperice announced the Air Zoom Hyperslide on July 27: a recovery slide with full-length Air Zoom cushioning and a magnetic, removable Hyperice pod seated in the adjustable strap. The pod delivers three heat levels reaching 117°F and three vibration settings across the top of the foot, running in 15-minute cycles controlled on the pod itself or through the Hyperice app. It launches September 29 in select markets at $249, through nike.com, hyperice.com, and select retailers.

It is the second product from the partnership, after the Hyperboot — a heated, air-compression high-top that cost $799. The Hyperslide drops the compression, keeps the heat, adds vibration, and lands at less than a third of the price in a format most people already own. Hyperice says it qualifies as an FSA/HSA purchase in the US.

Why we care

The interesting part is the direction, not the specs. Recovery technology has lived in dedicated devices — boots, guns, pads, and rooms built to hold them. Building heat and vibration into a slide moves the function into an object people were already going to put on. Nike's Tobie Hatfield, at a media briefing covered by Fast Company, described it as a product designed to begin recovery in the first five minutes after activity.

The usual calibration applies: heat and vibration are established comfort tools, but whether a 15-minute session in a slide changes recovery outcomes is a manufacturer claim the launch materials don't document. The safer read is the trend itself — the future of recovery may not be another room full of equipment. It may be ordinary objects quietly absorbing therapeutic functions.
