Glazing with a ceramic metal-oxide coating that tints electrically on demand — from clear to deep shade — controlling glare and solar gain without blinds or shades. Tint states are programmable by schedule, sun position, or sensor.
Why it matters
The light story of a high-performance home usually dies at the window treatment: great glazing, then blackout roller shades that erase the view and the daylight. Electrochromic glass manages glare and heat while keeping the view and the circadian light signal — which is the actual point of the glass wall. It is early-adopter territory: excellent when specified well, expensive and integration-heavy when not.

- Manufacturer longevity matters: you are buying a 30-year electrical component
