Kabuki Strength
Specialty barbells from strength's mad-science lab.
What they're known for
The Transformer Bar — four squat bars in one, from Chris Duffin's engineering-obsessed Kabuki lab.
Kabuki Strength is what happens when powerlifting and mechanical engineering share a workshop. The Transformer Bar is the thesis product: adjustable cambered arms change the bar's leverage profile on the fly, making it a traditional squat bar, a high-bar, a safety squat bar, and several positions between — one $795 bar replacing a rack full of specialty steel.
The practical case is shoulders. Most lifters who quit squatting do it because racking a straight bar stops being tolerable; the Transformer's front-loaded handle positions solve that without giving up the squat. Chris Duffin's lab builds for exactly these real-world failure points.
