Alama Studio
Turin design studio making kettlebells you'd put on a plinth.
What they're known for
Mirror-polished steel and ALPI-wood kettlebells, made to order in Italy — gym equipment reimagined as a design object.
Alama Studio is a Turin design practice that treats training equipment the way most studios treat furniture — as something engineered, finished, and meant to be looked at. The work sits where industrial design meets the home gym, which is a polite way of saying they build the kettlebell you'd actually leave out in the living room.
The kettlebell makes the case: 304L stainless steel, mirror-polished or given a PVD finish in rose gold or black gun, wrapped around an ALPI wood face you can spec in anything from striped white to flamed kakao. Each one is made to order in Rivalta di Torino on a four-to-six-week lead time, in weights from 4 to 26 kilograms. Equipment as object — and priced accordingly, which is to say not on the website.

Alama Studio Kettlebell
An Italian design studio's take on the kettlebell: a mirror-polished Black Gun PVD stainless body wrapped around a Planted Black ALPI wood face, built to read as an object even when it's just sitting on the floor. Balanced proportions and solid 304L steel keep it honest as a training tool — swings, cleans, carries — while the finish makes it the rare piece of equipment you'd rather leave out than hide. Made to order from 4kg to 26kg, with the wood face and steel finish customizable to taste.

Alama Studio Dumbbells
Fixed-weight dumbbells from the same Turin studio, finished in satin 304L stainless steel with Wavy Fair Blue ALPI wood faces and a matching wood handle. The square, soft-cornered heads sit flat and quiet on a rack — controlled enough for slow, deliberate work, handsome enough that the rack itself stops looking like a rack. Made to order from 4kg to 24kg, with the wood and steel finishes specced to taste.
